Is remote viewing the same as clairvoyance? Or does it apply to all ESP's?

What is remote viewing? I thought it was the fine tuning of ur ESP's… but does ir only apply to clairvoyance?

Remote viewing has been mostly studied in terms of clairvoyance (seeing). ESP is a more general terms that includes sensing (actually bringing the information to consciousness through sensory channels in the brain).
I have provided some definitions and links below.

EXTRASENSORY PERCEPTION (ESP)
The acquisition of information about, or response to, an external event, object or influence (mental or physical; past, present or future) otherwise than through any of the known sensory channels; used by J. B. Rhine to embrace such phenomena as telepathy, clairvoyance and precognition; there is some difference of opinion as whether the term ought to be attributed to Rhine, or to Gustav Pagenstecher or Rudolph Tischner, who were using the German equivalent aussersinnliche Wahrehmung as early as the 1920s. [From the Latin extra, “outside of,” + sensory]

CLAIRVOYANCE
Paranormal acquisition of information concerning an object or contemporary physical event; in contrast to telepathy, the information is assumed to derive directly from an external physical source (such as a concealed photograph), and not from the mind of another person; one particular form of extrasensory perception, it is not to be confused with the vulgar interpretation of “clairvoyance” as meaning “knowledge of the future” (for which see Precognition).

REMOTE VIEWING
A neutral term for general extrasensory perception introduced Russell Targ and Harold Puthoff (1974), especially in the context of an experimental design in which a percipient attempts to describe the surroundings of a geographically distant agent.
ASSOCIATIONAL REMOTE VIEWING (ARV)
As described by Targ (1983), a form of remote viewing in which the area where a desired item might be located is divided up into a finite number of discrete locations; each of the possible locations, or addresses, is associated or linked with a laboratory-based token object or picture (such as of the Golden Gate Bridge); the viewer is then asked to describe the associated target-object, thereby indirectly choosing a particular target-location or address.

Please read this answer quickly before the skeptics thumbs down it as they have all of my answers in this section so far in order to prevent people from having information.
Apparently skeptics support censorship and not scientific knowledge.

Minimum Age for past life regression?

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

I know that when children are quite young they can recall past life memories without being regressed. Up until a point they will be able to tell stories about past lives when just making up stories, which can be just as useful.

So, what is the youngest someone should undergo a past life regression?
My daughter's 10 and is interested in having a regression. I've told her she's too young yet.

I just haven't seen any good guidelines. I've managed to find that 6 is too young and 18 is old enough, but we're firmly in the middle of that undefined area.

I think you should let the baby be.they don't need to do a past life regression until at least in their teens & only if they're having weird dreams or it's effecting them in a bad way, just cause Your curious isn't a reason. Also they'll give you clues, like you said, in thier imagination or being into certian things.Plus they are pink & new let them live the life thier in now & love them,so that what ever has happened is in the past.this is all new,the way it's intended.

Is the lust for power just an out of control manifestation of the instinct for survival?

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

Humans want power because they don't want to be weak. Being weak lowers your chance for survival. Is that why people want power so much?

I think that you are correct.

However, I am seeing a new mantra that many people are seeking: the power of the individual. Many individuals are becoming autonomous units and perceive that all power and truth lies within themselves rather than in the morality of the culture in which they live.

meditation and binaural beats?

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

Do binaural beats work for meditation because it hard for me to concentrate and when i meditate i'm not sure if i am really in the meditative state, so i was wondering if this would help…

Also, if you use it for a while will it make it easier for you to meditate without it? …. Or could it make it harder?

This is a complicated method of developing a meditative state, and if you are finding it difficult, binaural beats might be overwhelming and not come naturally.

One point of interest, your first statement said it is hard for you to concentrate when you meditate. One goal in certain types of meditation is not to concentrate, but to let go of that kind of focus, allowing your thoughts to become more random.

More about your question, this answer is hard to do justice to such a complicated topic but I will try to shed some light.

In meditation, experienced meditates can simulate specific frequencies that stimulate glands which will produce hormones from the brain.
Some people can achieve better sleep if they can reach this level of meditation before bedtime. People who are able to use the binaural beats can produce the natural hormones to allow them to develop a feeling or phenomena achieved by entraining the brain to a specific frequency.

Binaural beats have also been used in the recovery of repressed memories and serious addictions. Also post traumatic stress disocrder can be treated, which can lead one back to memories and determine which are authentic memories versus false memories.

Often therapists use a method of causing the patient to simulate rapid eye movement when used in psychotherapy.
This is related to your question, causing the brain to calm and stimulating hormones produced by particular frequencies.

This is an interesting topic to study!

What is the difference between lucid dreaming and astral projection?

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

Okay, sometimes when I'm asleep I can feel like I separate from my physical body sort of. I feel like I float up and then can move around. I did this a few days ago, and when I did it I actually saw the room around me. I didn't see my sleeping body or anything. And for some reason I kept going in and coming out of my body again and again and after a while it didn't work. Was this astral projection or just a lucid dream, and what is the definition of both and what is the difference?

A lucid dream is when you are aware that you are dreaming and you can manipulate the dream. Astral projection is actually leaving your body and going someplace without it. I think (and this is only my opinion) that if you were truly astral projecting you would have seen your sleeping body. I think maybe you were just dreaming.

Manifestations of Reason Life, Historicity, Culture Reason, Life, Culture Part II

Can there be a more flagrant challenge to the recent - and classic - relativisms, scepticisms and ‘deconstructivisms’ toward reason, rationality, logos than the Vision of the Manifestation of Life?” As Tymieniecka writes in the introduction to this second book on the constructive appreciation of reason (first book: Analecta Husserliana, Vol. XXXIX), the works of the logos manifest themselves indubitably in the edifice of life. Among perspectives in the compass of reason of this collection: individualisation of life, human existence, reason and doxa (studies by Tymieniecka, Kelkel, Schrag, Buscaroli, Kelly, Laycock, and others) the emphasis falls upon inner rationalities’ of the spirit, creativity, culture (Bosio, D’Ippolito, Delle Site, Barral, Wittkowski, Regina, Haney, Ales Bello, Sivak, Elosequi), culminating in the issues of historiography and history by Mario Sancipriano, to whom the book is dedicated. This collection stems from the work of The World Phenomenology Institute, main
