The Great Wall of China or the Pyramids. Every corpse you use to create a tourist attraction = one more point towards ultimate social status. Stalin and Hitler don’t count because they didn’t leave anything of longevity. Raw corpse count is meaningless without the edifice to be remembered for.

Social status is defined by the culture. Different cultures have different definitions of social status and its external signs. Ancient northwestern coastal Native American tribes conferred social status upon the individual who could afford to give away the most personal possessions while modern American society confers high social status upon those who acquire and keep the most personal possessions. Go figure.
