Astral Projection is the process by which your astral body is projected into the astral plane from our physical plane. Time distortions and shifts from our present time period are common. Astral projection is in simplest form a meditative practice in metaphysics, the beliefs on which the New Age movement is founded. Astral projection is generally learned. The astral world is the “ghostland” into which one passes after death.
Astral projection is a close cousin of remote viewing with some notable distinctions. With remote viewing, you don’t have to put the body asleep, but instead enter an altered state of consciousness (sometimes even just a slight one). Astral projection is an extension of meditation and a form of trance. It is as natural as falling asleep and waking up.
Consciously directed astral projection is when there is a separation between the physical and astral body that is directed by a subject’s will, through meditative or other yogic techniques. There may be feelings of ecstasy, joy, well-being and awe. Conscious astral projection can be induced through deep meditative states. Some individuals leave their bodies from the solar plexus area, while others leave from the third eye or the crown chakra .
