Astral Projection Difficulties – Reasons Astral Projection is Difficult to Achieve
By Abhishek Agarwal
If astral projection is natural, we should all be able to project as easily as we breathe; but why can’t we? This is the common question of people who have heard of astral projection, but find it difficult to project or, worse still, are afraid to project. Astral projection IS natural; in fact, we project unconsciously in our sleep. What is difficult or, rather, what seems difficult is to project at will. Astral projection seems difficult or is rendered difficult for a large number of reasons that will be discussed at length here.
We find it difficult to project owing to our belief systems and stressful lifestyles. What we have been taught at a societal level, we have accepted as personal truths. We grew up learning the “proper” methods of social behavior, left-brained subjects such as science and math, a religion based on fear, and ways to survive in the physical world.
Everything related to the metaphysical is dismissed as impractical and unscientific. Our way of life takes us farther and farther away from our inner life. We are hardly connected to our inner self. Instead, we are more in touch with our cell phones, televisions, computers, jobs, traffic, relationships, and so on and so forth. All these keep away from truth-seeking, which is our basic nature. Under these circumstances, how can we project?
Society is held in chains of ignorance, fear, and external control. Our spiritual growth is stunted by myriad forces such as religion, politics, the struggle to survive, and so on. We are brought up to be inefficient astral projectors. We are ignorant about life after death, the astral realms, the power of thoughts, and so on. No wonder, we are not able to project…something as natural as breathing. We have forgotten the art, just as many of us have forgotten the art of deep breathing and survive with the oxygen we take in with shallow breathing.
Owing to the stress and strain of modern living, underscored with ignorance and fear, astral projection has become a “gift” enjoyed only by a few. Those who wish to master it have to undergo long and hard training. Or, perhaps, science has to take an interest in astral projection and develop a device or a tool that enables everyone to project.
Right now, we have aids such as meditation tapes, herbs, hemi-sync, and so on. It might help us project temporarily in a training institute such as Monroe Institute. But once we are back home and left to our own devices, we will not be able to project again.
The special tool that will allow everybody to project at will is not yet discovered. Our physical bodies cling to the astral…the two refuse to separate. You need a great power of will, along with diligent practice of meditation and other techniques that will enable you to project. Until then, astral projection, though natural, will be something very difficult indeed.
